Public conduct refers to the behavior that we have in public places such as restaurants, stores, libraries, offices, the street, etc. There are some things that we wouldn't do in public simply because we know they can annoy some or all of the people around us and they can probably complain about it.
In your opinion, how should people behave in public places?
Do you think it's important to speak up when people behave inconsiderately in public?
Choose one thing from the list below that really gets on your nerves and explain why?
cutting in line ** graffiti on walls
talking in theaters ** gossiping

ReplyDeleteTo be in public places requires that the people keep an appropriate behavior. Therefore, all we would have to be conscientious about how we act when we are in public places. However, that conscience begins since we are growing up. As much modals as social coexistence rules should be taught by the parents to their children, teaching them not only talking to them but also giving the example to them.
Talking about social coexistence rules, one of the several things that really bug me is when there is someone is cutting in line. In my opinion, this is a behavior that you can find almost worldwide but this would look like a more common behavior among Venezuelan people. You can observe that making a line in the bank, either to buy a ticket or to enter to an event, for instance. I consider it disrespectful and inconsiderate to those who have come around before.
Those people who use to cut in line should know that their time is as valuable as anyone else's. Therefore, who feels affected by the way to act of other people should have to let them know, in a polite way, that is an unacceptable behavior and suggest them to respect the norms, and the rights of other people.

ReplyDeleteI think people should concern other people rights when they are in public places, and think in their own rights and what is annoying to them to avoid having inappropriate behaves in public places.
It’s important to speak up when people behave inconsiderately in public?
I think it’s important to communicate to other people that they are behaving inconsiderately in public, but it must be done in a discrete way.
For me cutting in line gets on my nerves, because I think that when people do it in public places are annoying other people. In Venezuela it’s frequent doing lines to obtain every governmental document, like personal ID or driver license, which require doing long lines and sometimes many public functionaries promote some people to cutting in line….Not only it’s important to think about other people’s rights but also know some people can’t stay long time up in a line.
